Trivium: Grammar I – Foundations [Winter 2026]

Announcement of our Winter 2026 Trivium: Art of Grammar course, in which we investigate the foundations of the English language (and language generally) through a rigorous study of syntax and semantics.

Details

This course includes eight weekly readings, lectures, homework assignments and two live class sessions per week. The class sessions are recorded but should be attended to fully participate. One should own a physical copy of the Robert Fitzgerald translation of Virgil’s Aeneid (paperback) (hardcover). Our primary text, Linguistic Signification (2nd edition), is available for purchase as a paperback but will also be made available to all participants as a free PDF.

This and all Trivium courses are only available to enrolled members.

Live classes occur on Mondays at 06:00pm–07:00pm ET (see world times here) and Tuesdays at 12:00pm–1:00pm ET (world times), beginning on January 12/13 and running until March 9/10 (with a break on February 9/10). Find more details in the syllabus and enroll in the Lyceum today!
