Study at the Lyceum
Intellectual Formation
A coherent and serious course of studies in the foundations of learning, the liberal arts of the Trivium, classical languages, and philosophy—undertaken with the personal guidance of faculty members.
Become a serious thinker
Live instruction is joined to asynchronous lectures, readings, writing, and translation, preserving flexibility without sacrificing personal education.
Conventional pathways in education today have focused on training for action. We focus instead on developing the habits by which human beings become deeper, serious, more reflective, and more careful thinkers. The goal is not marketable abilities, but deeper understanding and a more fully human way of life.
Foundations
Recover the paths of intellectual growth that make focused thinking in a distracted age possible.
Language & the Trivium
Study the arts of language together with the classical languages in which they took form.
Philosophy
Develop the philosophical habit through seminars, reading circles, and the arts of prolonged contemplation.

Education at the personal level
A faculty at the center
Individual coursework, writing, and translation are not left without direction. Faculty members know the work of their students, guide their reading, and help them to answer their most pressing questions.
The online setting broadens access to study while preserving the personal relationships and coherent approach required for genuine intellectual formation.
