Dr. Peter Redpath, a friend, adviser for the Lyceum Institute, and the external reader on my dissertation passed away on Palm Sunday.
He was a champion of real education and someone who—in ways both direct and indirect—had an important impact on how I approach the intellectual life. He was faithful to the truth—but to his friends, too, and generous to them all.
One can find an extensive summary of Dr. Redpath’s work in philosophy, teaching, and publication here. In one form or another, he taught philosophy for over five decades, authored 11 monographs, edited or co-edited another 11 volumes, and published dozens of articles and reviews. He will be dearly missed. But his work and wisdom endure.
Requiescat in Pace.
