Latin Courses (2026)

Language Study| News and Announcements

In 2026, the Lyceum Institute will offer four Latin Courses: our three Foundations Courses, teaching students the fundamentals of Latin, including common vocabulary and basics of grammar (comprising morphology and syntax), an an intermediate selected readings course on St. Thomas Aquinas’ De aeternitate mundi, which will focus on some of the specific nuances of Scholastic Latin.

The Foundations courses will be offered sequentially throughout the year, taking students from absolutely no knowledge of the language whatsoever to a beginner’s reading competence. This will enable the student to engage in more advanced studies. Class sessions are held Tuesdays at 6:00pm ET.

The selected reading course in De aeternitate mundi will be offered in the Fall (precise dates and times TBD).

The Foundations courses are FREE to all enrolled members of the Lyceum Institute (which starts as low as $9.59/mo). See our Latin page for the syllabi and more details on our program.
